A Dollar (Bumper Sticker) Goes a Long Way.

When the pressure’s on, girls really know how to bring it.

So as exciting as it is, it doesn’t come as a surprise to me that our US Women’s soccer team stepped up and head-butted that pressure in the face (figuratively, and probably literally too). The team, who’s currently slated to take on Japan in the Women’s World Cup finals this Sunday, garnered a cult following in a series of close-call games throughout the FIFA tournament that lead them to the finals. And on Sunday, the U.S. could be celebrating the newest world futbol champions.

We’re starting the celebrations a little early – we’re super excited they’re in the finals, after all! And to show our pride for our gals stateside, we’ve created a special edition bumper sticker in honor of them – and its only $1. A kick-a$$ deal because of some kick-a$$ females. We like it and hope you do too.

Interestingly enough, this is not the U.S. team’s first time battling for the top spot – the women’s team has previously won two Women’s World Cup titles, both in 1991 and 1999. Maybe they’ll add a third on Sunday and hence be triple as awesome as they were before?

It’s summer, so it won’t be hard to warm-up to this deal – and while you’re at it, check out a ton of other cool soccer t-shirts and gear – we’re pretty sure you’ll score on this deal.world cup bumper sticker

Rebound From Last Year’s March Madness Loss

bracketologist t-shirtUnless you picked the Duke Blue Devils in a nail-biting thriller over Butler in last year’s NCAA men’s basketball tournament final, chances are you didn’t win the office pool. Sorry, better luck next year. Wait … it is next year. And March Madness is back and you now have another chance to pick the picks, talk the trash & slam-dunk those brackets.

Whether you went to a college that’s one of the lucky 65 to make the dance (although if I remember correctly, they’re expanding the field to 68 teams this year?), or just supporting a local team or perennial favorite, it’s time to don your basketball gear and show your true colors.

Selection Sunday happens March 13, then the first “play-in” games begin bright & early Tuesday. So suit up and get into the games. Good luck in your brackets, and good luck to your team. I’m picking Ohio State to go all the way, but I’m sure 9.2 million other people are too — so don’t count it as the inside scoop from a seasoned bracketologist.

Baseball Gets Into Full Swing

Spring training onesie

With Spring Training camps springing up all over Arizona and Florida, it must be time for baseball again (yea!). Yep, the Boys of Summer are now lacing ’em-up and doing their Boys of Spring thing in the Cactus and Grapefruit leagues.

Not to brag (OK, just a little), but my San Francisco Giants won the 2010 World Series and are ready to defend the title for the first time since … well, since forever. It’s going to be an exciting season. And if you’re keeping score at home, I’m also rooting for the Oakland A’s and Chicago Cubs, and heading to Phoenix for a few days next month to watch the Cincinnati Reds in training camp with my family (Dad is a die-hard red legs fan from way-back).

If you have a favorite team (or a favorite team to razz), don’t be shy. Show people exactly how you feel in no uncertain terms with fun baseball-themed products. It’s also a great way to strike up a conversation with people on the streets (or base paths). Play ball!

$15 T-Shirt Commemorates QB’s Signature Move

Green bay packers t-shirtAs Packer fans know (and the rest of the world found out repeatedly on Super Bowl Sunday), Green Bay quarterback Aaron Rodgers celebrates touchdowns by wrapping his hands around the front & back of an imaginary “Championship Belt.”

Championship Belts are the huge, gaudy-gold belts professional wrestlers and boxers wear when holding the title. After the game, fellow Packers star Clay Mathews even placed a real Championship Belt on Rodgers’ shoulders to pay homage to his signature celebration.

To commemorate Green Bay’s earning of the 2011 gridiron championship, we’re featuring a Special Edition T-shirt with simple instructions on how to perform Aaron Rodgers’ slick move. Available for just $15 until February 9, this T-shirt is sure to earn you a high-five from football fans. Plus it will spark a conversation with people who may not be well-versed in Packers lore. Either way, score your T-shirt and score points with fans of self-expression.

Football Fans: Sport Team Gear at Your Own Risk.

Packers long sleeve t-shirtWhile we would love for you to show your team spirit by ordering Super Bowl-themed apparel and football drinkware for the big game, the fact is it can be career threatening. If not career ending.

In case you haven’t heard, week-before-last a car salesman in the Chicago area was fired for wearing a Green Bay Packers tie to work. We’re hoping it was because he also had on a neon orange sport jacket and the contrast was just too much for customers to stomach? But chances are, it’s because the Chicago Bears-Green Bay Packers game had ended badly the day-before for Chicago fans. Ouch. They actually sent him “packing.”

But because every story in this blog has a happy ending, we can report that the gentleman did get a job offer at a competitive car dealership the next day. Plus he was offered his old job back (which he declined).

With the Packers a slim favorite to win the Lombardi Trophy over the Pittsburg Steelers, this may not be the last we hear of him – career wise. Plus it’s only a matter of time before he’s on Oprah and Dr. Phil, as well getting his own reality TV series. Strange but true.
