The Oscars were on last night (if you cared to watch, if not, no bigs) and were probably the most predictable they’ve been in a while. The King’s Speech won a lot of top awards, including Best Picture, Best Director and Best Actor Colin Firth, who wanted to do a dance on stage but waited until he got backstage (Whyyy? A fox trot would’ve made things so much more exciting!). Natalie Portman, Christian Bale and Melissa Leo rounded out the rest of the top acting awards.
Other highlights included pretty dresses on the red carpet (Thank you Michelle Williams, <3 you 4everz), the man-love bickering of Jude Law and Robert Downey Jr. while presenting, and James Franco’s adorable nana on camera.
Hmmm, what else. Yawn. Well, I guess it was that great of a show. BUT, that shouldn’t stop you from checking out all of the great movies in the history of moviedom, past and present, Oscar winners or nominees. There are some gems out there that sparkle on the screen and in your hearts. Corny, but true.
