Miss him yet?

Some small business owners in Minnesota made a bit of a splash with a highway billboard emblazoned with a picture of George W. Bush and the question, “Miss me Yet?”  While the billboard’s legitimacy was originally questioned throughout the blogosphere, NPR has assured us that the billboard is, indeed, quite real.

What’s most interesting to us about this billboard is simply that the “Miss me yet?” sentiment is the first real George W. Bush T-shirt trend since the heartfelt liberal inaugural farewells and, before that, the infamous Iraqi shoe-throwing incident.

Indeed, it would seem that now that he’s out of office, George W. Bush – so long a source of inspiration for Liberal designers – has finally become a font of inspiration for Conservatives.  And as was the case so often in W’s presidency, Cheney’s got a piece of the action himself.

  1. I just saw the interview with your spokesperson Jenna Martin on the CBS News website:

I was less than thrilled that she felt the need to make a snotty, unrequired, obviously liberal-view tainted swipe at Sarah Palin in an interview that was supposed to be about George Bush merchandise being a hot seller on Cafe Press.

A few things, Jenna. Gov. Palin made her entire speech that day based off of those few items written on her hand. President Obama can’t address a group of 6th graders without a teleprompter in front of him:

Senator Diane Feinstein D-(CA) wrote “crib notes” as you so deftly put it on her palm during a debate in 1990. Which by the way was a CLEAR violation of the debate rules which called for no notes of any kind.

As a spokesperson for Cafe Press, you would think Ms. Martin would have the intelligence to not piss off a significant portion of the public that buys and sells merchandise on your site.

Maybe she needs a new job elsewhere.

  2. BREAKING NEWS! Obama has solved the California Earthquake problem. Turns out he was able to solve it like he’s solved all the problems facing the nation. He just blamed it on Bush. So he’s spending some of the stimulus money on a name change for the San Andreas Fault. From now on it’s BUSH’S FAULT!

  3. Wow, what a shame Obama hasn’t fixed everything in one year that Cheney/Bush had eight years to screw up. This must be the United States of Amnesia.

  4. Cheney/Bush weren’t nearly as conservative as I’d have liked them to be (Alan Keyes was the last Republican candidate over whom I was excited), but they did at least make a few efforts at fixing what Gore/Clinton took eight years to screw up, such as cutting taxes (cuts in spending would also have been nice, especially in welfare) and letting that stupid gun control Brady Law expire. Cheney/Bush also made some pro-life gestures, appointed two competent Supreme Court justices, and, last but not least, sent Bin Laden into hiding and ended Saddam Hussein’s reign permanently. If that counts as eight years of screwing up, then I hope Obama never fixes anything, whether in one year or four.

Yes, I certainly do miss Bush.

  5. Just a note on your Miss Me Yet merchandise. I do think it is great but if you are going to use the word Y’all please place apostrophe in the right place. All Southerners, especially Texans, know the proper spelling of the contraction of you and all is Y’ALL.

From the book, “Common Errors in English Usage” YA’ll
If you are rendering this common Southernism in print, be careful where you place the apostrophe, which stands for the second and third letters in “you.” Note that “y’all” stands for “you all” and is properly a plural form.

  6. Palin can make a speech off a few notes on her hand, huh? That explains a lot.

Obama’s an amateur. If you ever get the chance, look up some of Fidel Castro’s speeches. You want a “socialist,” that man knows how to speak.

If it were me in charge of Cafe Press I wouldn’t be too bothered at upsetting various traitors to the United States–oh, excuse me, Bush supporters. The man is an embarrassment, regularly wiped his butt with the Constitution and you all cheered him on. This is one leftie with no sympathy whatsoever. Get your nose out of the TV and start looking at what is really happening to this country. Just because it hasn’t affected you yet doesn’t mean it isn’t a problem.

  7. “. . .Wow, what a shame Obama hasn’t fixed everything in one year that Cheney/Bush had eight years to screw up. . .”

Well, Obama’s come close. 12617 Islamic terrorist attacks worldwide between 9/11 and 1/20/09… none in the U.S. Only took Obama 10 months to fix that.
Bush did more for poor people than any two Democrat presidents since Truman. Obama fixed that right away. . .the Obama recession is hurting more poor people than any recession since Carter’s and it took Carter four years to do his bit towards being one of the worst presidents in the history of the Country.
Vote fraud, campaign finance fraud, racism, trillion dollar, dishonest pork projects, outright lies. . .Obama is really “changing” things. Any more changing and he will pass Carter in the race to be worst President ever.

  9. Interesting story in the news these days… (just google “obama phone records”) about how the Obama administration says you and I don’t have a reasonable expectation of privacy when we talk on our cell phone. Uh? In other words call phone records… who you call… where you are when you call… are all public info. We’re not talking terrorists here… we’re just talking you and me. Joe Citizen. After all… if we were talking terrorists Obama, Holder and the ACLU would be the first to cry foul… but since it’s just your average citizen it’s no big deal. Talk about wiping your butt with the constitution.

And another thing… Obama needs a word for word teleprompter production in order to… well… while we’re on the subject… wipe his butt… but Palin scribbles a couple words on her hand before a speech and that somehow makes her stupid? I don’t get it!

Wow! Really?! I’m curious how many “poor people” you know. I’m sure Katrina victims would have a different opinion (I know a few who do.) Plus being in a family who is supported by 3 small family businesses, I can guarantee you that this recession started WAY before Obama was president!
