A great day for cone heads
Hot enough for ya? I got a cool solution: Just grab an ice cream cone and chill. Think of it as a celebration, as well as a warm-weather treat.
Yes, historical buffs (with a sweat tooth), today marks the anniversary of the very first ice cream parlor in America. Although Persians enjoyed syrups cooled in snow as far back as 400 BC, it wasn’t until this date in 1786 that the rage made its commercial debut in New York City. The rest is history – with a cherry on top.
Today ice cream is a universal favorite of everyone from kids in sticky bibs to smartly aproned executive desert chefs at swanky five-start restaurants. It’s also pretty popular around my house, where a carton of Rocky Road is usually front-and-center in the ice box. Wanna spoon?

Your “Wanna spoon?” triggered a new shop from me…

Yes, a spoon please. I’ll have to celebrate it late! I think its a good excuse.
