I Can’t Drive 55.
Today is the 55th anniversary of the death of James Dean. Coincidentally, the tragic automobile accident that took the young actor’s life occurred in 1955 … while he was behind the wheel of a 1955 Porsche 550 Spyder. And if that isn’t weird enough, it was 55 degrees at 5:55 somewhere today (OK, I’m running out of relevant stuff).
But what I wanted to say is, long before the dangers of texting and driving, there was the danger of driving small cars fast without a seat belt (still dangerous, by the way). So be careful out there. Especially when you’re driving near me.
Although he only made a handful of movies, his legacy lives on 55 years later in a world of James Dean posters. But you have to wonder what would have happened if he hadn’t met such a tragic end. What ever the answer is, I bet there’s a 55 in there somewhere.
RIP Jimmy, we miss you.

Grandma Linkin can’t drive (85), so she took a commemorative ride with a CafePress t-shirt: http://sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-ash2/hs328.ash2/60850_127847963933149_100001238395369_171240_741915_n.jpg
